Edwardian Barograph by Negretti & Zambra

This is an attractive late Edwardian barograph by respected manufacturers, Negretti & Zambra of London circa 1930. Set in an attractive mid-oak case it has a hinged lid with bevelled glass and a two-compartment chart drawer to the base below. The barograph movement is in excellent working condition and would have been made by Richard Freres of Paris who were enjoying  a long working association with Negretti & Zambra at the time. Around this time Negretti introduced the logo which combines the letters 'N' and 'Z' which is also engraved along with Negretti & Zambra London on the baseplate. A distinctive feature of this movement is the steel bracket fixed to the end goalpost acting as a finger guard. A nice feature is a mercury thermometer fitted to the brass baseplate.

Perfect as a presentation gift.

Note! Although this instrument is engraved with Negretti & Zambra's name and logo, they also supplied these to specialist retailers - see attached instruction leaflet of the same instrument sold by James Brown of Glasgow.

Supplied with a selection of weekly charts, a fresh bottle of recording ink and a re-printed copy of an instruction pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra illustrating the interpretation of various chart recordings.
