Here’s my monthly barograph recording for November 2024. Clearly a month of two halves – the first couple of weeks in Somerset were settled with mild, heavily overcast with almost no recordable sunshine. Those daily gentle ups and downs over the first couple of weeks are known as diurnal variations- normally welcome in summer as they equate with fine, warm and generally sunny weather.
The last two weeks show us bombarded with a succession of Atlantic storms, including Ashley, Bert. Conall.
I always advise those who have an interest in buying a barograph to consider one with a monthly clock rotation – apart from having a monthly record on one chart you only need to change the chart 12 times a year!
There are a number of these instruments available on my website.
The chart printed in red is a standard size barograph the larger one printed in light green is from my large Precision Barograph.
